The Scar Less Tummy Tuck

A mini tummy tuck is called a scarless tummy tuck because a smaller incision is required than for a regular tummy tuck. The mini tummy tuck is also called a partial abdominoplasty in cosmetic surgery. The use of a local anesthesia is usually all that is required. Since less skin will be removed, the cut made by the surgeon will be smaller than normal and the scar may be invisible even in a bikini. Also, the belly button will not be moved during a mini tummy tuck procedure.
The smaller incision in a partial tummy tuck means that less of the abdominal wall will be opened since less fat and skin needs to be removed than with a traditional tummy tuck surgical procedure.
The cut in a partial abdominoplasty goes from the point of the incision to the belly button. Once the fat in the area has been removed and liposuction may also be used, the abdominal muscles are tightened. The surrounding skin is stretched down and all excess skin is cut off. A drainage tube may be inserted temporarily.
Recovery time for a partial tummy tuck is considerably less than for a traditional tummy tuck. Most mini tummy tuck patients are back to work in a few days; however, they should not over stress themselves with vigorous exercise for a few weeks following the procedure.
This cosmetic surgery is for those people who only have a small amount of excess abdominal skin that needs to be removed and whose abdominal muscle wall does not extend too far out in the front. Many candidates for mini tummy tucks are facing the effects of aging and want their sagging tummies to be tightened.
